Mr. McMahon has more than 20 years experience in fund-raising management for universities, colleges and Christian schools. During his career in fund-raising he has worked with the J.F. Smith Group focusing on campaign project management, feasibility studies and new business development. In 2007, he was named Project Manager of the Year for JFSG.

Prior to joining the Smith Group, he served as executive director of institutional development for Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, Tennessee. He had previously completed lengthy and effective stints with the University of Memphis as development director of the Fogelman College of Business and Economics and as director of development for Evangelical Christian School in Memphis.

Dick McMahon has extensive experience in managing capital campaigns and annual giving programs; identifying, cultivating and soliciting donor prospects; planning and coordinating campaign feasibility studies; conducting feasibility study interviews; and in the recruitment of volunteers; facilitation of the fund-raising activities of trustee boards, alumni groups and volunteer committees; and interaction with the business community.

Prior to his involvement in fund-raising, he worked in the corporate world as national marketing director for David C. Cook Publishing Co., the nation’s leading independent publisher of Sunday school curriculum, assistant vice president of marketing for Holiday Inns, Inc., the world's largest hotel chain, and as a customer service specialist for the Yellowstone Park Company, Wyoming.

Dick is an active member of Hope Church in Cordova, Tennessee, and serves as a deacon, sings in the worship choir and participates in international mission trips. A graduate of the University of Memphis, where he was president of both Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Omicron Delta Kappa fraternities, and now an around-the-world traveler, he is a widower and has three adult married children, five grandsons, one beautiful granddaughter, and a cat named Oscar.
