Fund-raising professionals from colleges, universities, and private Christian schools throughout the country have benefited from Focus on Fund-raising institutes hosted by the J.F. Smith Group.

In April 2008, almost 30 coaches and development staff members from across the country gathered at The Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada for an athletic development seminar devoted specifically to college athletic fund-raising. Seventeen different colleges and universities were represented, and the seminar featured American Football Coaches Association, Executive Director, Grant Teaff, as special guest speaker.

Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville was the site for a seminar that attracted 28 principals, development directors, and board members to learn fund-raising strategies for the Christian school.
