Mr. Neel’s association with the J.F. Smith Group began as a contract employee conducting feasibility study interviews. He joined the company full time in 2007 as a project manager. Since joining JFSG, Mr. Neel has worked with managing capital campaigns; identifying, cultivating and soliciting donor prospects; recruiting volunteers; and facilitating the fund-raising activities of trustee boards, alumni groups and volunteer committees.

Mr. Neel has over 30 years of marketing and management experience in the insurance and real estate industries. His involvement included estate planning and working with trusts. In the securities and real estate area he has raised investment capital for commercial properties and medically related facilities.

In the civic area , as a committee member and Chairman of Young Life of Birmingham, Mike has been actively involved in fund-raising and coordinating volunteer support for this non-profit ministry for high school students.

Mike is married to Johnnie Sue Cherneski. They have five children and five grandchildren. They are members of Parkway Christian Fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama.
