Biography:
Dr. Pete Henderson joined the J.F. Smith Group four years ago. He has worked both as a feasibility study interviewer and a project manager for JFSG. Recently, Henderson worked as the project manager for the Choose Life of North Alabama capital campaign, located in Huntsville, Alabama. As project manager, Henderson helped to secure 100% participation from the board; trained staff for solicitations; conducted solicitation visits; edited proposal documents; wrote scripts for calls; attended EPC meetings; and followed up on outstanding proposals, among other responsibilities.
Henderson retired as a lieutenant colonel after serving 20 years in the US Air Force (1960-1980), with assignments in Ohio, Puerto Rico, South Dakota, Alabama, and various locations overseas. Command assignments included two tours as a security police squadron commander; two tours as a commandant of students for AFROTC; operational crew duty assignments included one tour as a Strategic Missile Launch Crew Commander. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Viet Nam.
Henderson’s civilian career was in higher education (1980 – 2002), with stints at Auburn University, University of Maine at Presque Isle and Faulkner University.
